WSC members: we need your help to host our annual Ground Hog swim meet this Sunday, January 28, 2007. Please send Kim Russo an email to let her know of your volunteer commitment. We need help with set up, timing, and break down. Plenty of positions to be filled.
If anyone is interested in participating in the St. Croix 5-Mile Coral Reef Swim Race please contact Kim Russo. Please don’t wait too long, as it closes out quickly.
Connecticut Masters will be giving out the new Connecticut Masters swim cap to the first 200 members of Connmasters registering for the Ground Hog Meet this 28th of January at the Westport Family Y. Be sure to register early to get a cap and enjoy a fun meet.

January Saturday schedule for Masters is as follows:
Sat., Jan. 6th: 10am-12pm
Sat., Jan. 13th: 11am-12:30pm
Sat., Jan. 20th: 11am-12:30pm
Sat., Jan. 27th: 11am-12:30pm
Registration for the 2007 Season is open as of 11/1/06. The 2007 registration form is posted on the ConnMasters website.
If you’re interested in purchasing a team suit for the upcoming season please contact Kim Russo. Kim has contacted AgonSwim to see if they have improved the men’s drag suit and also to see if we can get the same pricing. Depending on how many suits are ordered will determine the price. Well the weather cleared up after all for another successful year of the Westport Kiwanis Triathlon. Thank you to our Grand Sponsor Fairfield County Bank for it’s third consecutive year of sponsorship. Other sponsors included Sachs/Walsh Insurance, Coffee News and Westport/Greenwich Bikes. Results are now available at Platt Systems. In addition to our sponsors we would like to thank our volunteers who play a crucial part in organizing and hosting such an event.
Westport Swim Club is proud to announce Laura Burke as the Women’s Second Place Overall Winner as well as first place for her age group. Way to go Laura! Other great participants from Westport Swim Club were Jake Gulick who took first place for his age group, Amy Gladwell with an impressive second place for her age group, and Kim Russo who was part of a winning relay.
The Meriden Masters is pleased to announce a swimming clinic featuring 3-time U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier and Master’s World and National Record holder, Mike Ross. The clinic is Sunday September 24th from 12:30 - 3 pm at the Meriden YMCA. A post clinic meal is provided as well as free give-aways.
