2005 Westport Kiwanis Minuteman Tri Results
Sunday September 11th, 2005 marked the 22nd annual Westport Kiwanis Minuteman triathlon The event took place at Compo Beach @ 7:00 AM with perfect weather and water conditions. For the first time in the race history Platt Systems chip timing was used which aided in handling a record number of 223 registrants.
Also, a first for the event was an engagement at the finish line. David Austin of NYC proposed to Karem Esteva, a Westport local and Staples graduate, with both families holding a banner at the finish line which read “Karem, race with me forever, will you marry me?”.
