It was a picture perfect day for the 21^st Westport Kiwanis Minuteman Triathlon sponsored by Fairfield County Bank on Sunday morning. Competitors and spectators began to arrive by 7:30 AM to compete in ideal conditions. We had clear blue skies, no wind, calm water and lots of enthusiasm. The race officially began by 9:15 AM. The athletes were given lots of support from local residents, Staples High School Girls Swim Team, Kiwanis Club Members, and members of the Westport Swim Club. We are very greatful to the Westport Police Dept. and Parks and Recreation for helping us have a fun and safe event. We look forward to many more years of this.

The over all winner was Shane Meehan, male age 35, who finished in an impressive 36:26. The first female was Michelle Wolfson, age 36, with a finishing time of 43:23. The winning relay was comprised of three men: Jerry Librizzi, Tom Holton and Kevin Brown. Their final time was 37:11.
